April is Here!

Where did March go? Did anyone see it?

The end of March brought a new grandnephew to my family. He was 10 weeks early and weighed in at 2 lbs, 12 oz, when born. God has been with him and I am happy to say that at 2 weeks old, he is now 3lbs, 3 oz. My niece and her husband have seen the hand of God on him every step of the way. I decided that I would knit up two preemie blankets, for them to use in the NICU unit, and sent them off. Here are my two blankets.

I have come across some vintage dishtowels and have started sewing them into small unlined tote bags. I am having a lot of fun with these. I love seeing the vintage fabrics and some of them bring memories flooding back to my brain. Here is one of the little totes. I have used pieces of the towel for handles and have sewn the bag using french seams, so that raw edges are not seen. The bag is sewn so that there is a flat bottom, too.

These bags can be used for craft projects or even lunch bags. This bag is listed and the others will be, and are, in my etsy shop.

When I was at Wildflower Retreat, in March, (oh, there's March!) we worked with color and blending colors in carding them together. I decided when I was done with my little batts, to blend them all together in a great yarn! Here is my yarn, all handspun and plied.

I named this skein Daydream, and it is 36 yards of color, glitz, glitter and softness. I did list in on etsy, too.
